Books on Wheels
The Ayer Library is pleased to offer a no-fee library materials delivery service to Ayer residents who are permanently or temporarily unable to access the library. This program will allow patrons to enjoy the library’s collection without physically visiting the library. The library will arrange to have items (books, magazines, DVDs, audiobooks, music, etc.) delivered and picked-up from patron’s homes by volunteers.
The library is looking for volunteers and participants for this new service. There are multiple volunteer jobs available for those who are interested, including delivery drivers, book selectors, and book sorters. Volunteers must submit a CORI form and attend an orientation session. Those who are interested in being drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Patrons who would like to receive deliveries can choose to do so if they are unable to come to the Library for at least three weeks. This can be a permanent or temporary service.
If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer or receive deliveries, please contact the library at 978-772-8250 or e-mail the library at ayerlibrary@cwmars.org with the subject line “BOW.”
Printed forms are available at the library, or you can follow these links to print the forms at home:
