The Board of Library Trustees is the governing body of the Ayer Library, as established by the Massachusetts State Legislature via the Library’s 1894 Act of Incorporation and as amended in 1991. For more information about the Board of Library Trustees click here.

The Ayer Library was incorporated by an act of Legislature on January 16, 1894. The new addition was added to the library in 1997. For more information about the history of the Ayer Library and our vast collections of historical items related to the town of Ayer and Fort Devens, click here.

The Library Director of the Ayer Library prepares a monthly report of library activities for the Board of Library Trustees. Copies of these reports are also submitted to the Town Manager’s Office and are posted to the Town of Ayer website. To view the reports, click here.
