Adult Services
Visit the Library today and say hello to your Adult Services team! Our team is always adding new virtual and in-person programs for adults, so please check out the Events calendar for more information and to register for upcoming programs. Past programs have included mushroom foraging, honey production, crafting, and more.
Here’s a look at our recurring programs – these are all free to the public and take place on a regular basis:
Craft & Tea of the Month
Call or email the library to reserve your crafting kit with everything you need to make this month’s craft! You can also request the tea of the month, which includes tea, fun facts, and recipes.
The Tea of the Month is sponsored by the Friends of the Ayer Library.
Both the craft and tea of the month are only available while supplies last during that month. The adult services team also offers seasonal brain bundles to take home! Each brain bundle features a variety of puzzles and activities designed to help you unplug and exercise your brain.
Book Groups
We have three different book groups at the Ayer Library – a general group, a thriller group, and a historical fiction group. Take a look at our Events calendar to see what we’re reading this month and don’t forget to register!
- General Book Group: This monthly book group reads any and all genres. It’s a great opportunity to chat about books in a friendly, informal setting.
- Thriller Book Group: Love a good thrill? This book group (which meets every other month) reads books that fall within the psychological thriller genre.
- Historical Fiction Book Group: Dive into a different period of time with this monthly book group that focuses on books within the historical fiction genre.
Stitch Circle
Get crafty with the Ayer Library’s monthly stitch circles. Join us and spend time with others as you work on your current project. Knitting, crocheting, hand sewing, embroidery, and more are welcome! Make some progress while enjoying the company of others.
Growing Places Market
Come shop the monthly Growing Places Market! Fresh local produce will be available for purchase using cash, credit, ATM, farmers market coupons, or SNAP/HIP dollars. No registration is required. In the summer months, this Market takes place in the Library’s parking lot. During the winter, it moves indoors to the rotunda outside of our Large Print Reading Room. Visit the Events calendar for more information.
