We are also offering Window Browsing book check out, Curbside Crafts for Teens and Kids, Adult Creative Crafting to Go, and plus videos and information on our Ayer Library Facebook page.
The Ayer Library has been closed since March 16th, 2020 due to COVID-19 under the recommendations of the Governor of Massachusetts, the Town Manager, and the Ayer Library Board of Trustees.
During this time, the staff of the Ayer Library has continued to serve library patrons by maintaining contact through phone messages, emails, and online postings and through providing virtual Storytimes for families and other at-home activities that can be viewed on our Facebook page or website. The library staff has been hard at work to supply as much digital content as possible to patrons, by purchasing more ebooks through Overdrive/Libby and adding new online resources like RBDigital which provides movies, tv shows, digital comic books, and e-audiobooks, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. The staff has also taken advantage of this time to clean, tidy, and undertake some much-needed improvement projects on the library building itself. These changes to the building include updating furniture, installing new circulation desks, and redesigning the library space.
Now that the stay-at-home order has been lifted, the Ayer Library is looking to reestablish more in-person services to the community. Our main concern at this time is the continued safety and wellbeing of our staff and patrons. As such, it will be a slow process of reopening and allowing patrons back in the building.
