2020-2022 East Main Street Construction
Library Access During East Main Street Construction
Construction work on East Main Street between is scheduled for April through November of 2021. Construction activity will take place mainly between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM during the week, and there may be periods of time when access to the Ayer Library may be difficult if not impossible.
We will do our best to announce in advance when the Library’s parking lot or the Library itself will be inaccessible but we rely on MassDOT to inform us either directly or through the Ayer DPW. Please call us directly at (978) 772-8250 before you travel to the Library if you have questions about access.
If construction activity blocks access to the Library’s parking lot, library patrons are welcome to park at the Ayer District Court parking lots on School Street and Prospect Street. You may park in any space designated for visitors without need to notify anyone at the Courthouse.
July 2, 2021 Construction Update
The following work is anticipated starting Tuesday July 6th:
The contractor, PJ Albert will be removing the sidewalk pavement and replacing it with compacted gravel until they are ready for the final grading and new cement concrete sidewalks to be installed.
