The Ayer Library offers a wide variety of services and resources for the use of our patrons. The library is open to all who want to use our building.

Circulation - The majority of materials in the library may be borrowed using any valid C/W MARS library card. A library card must be presented in order to check out any materials. Anyone age 5 and older may obtain a library card.
  • Books - The library's collection of books includes hardcovers, paperbacks, audiobooks, e-books, and a special military collection. The library also has an extensive children's and young adult collection.
  • Movies and TV Shows - The library has a large collection of new and classic movies, as well as a growing collection of TV shows.
  • Music - The music collection hosts a wide range of interests and genres of music to satisfy anyone's needs.
  • Magazines and Newspapers - The library has subscriptions to many magazines and local newspapers. Newspapers and new magazines may be enjoyed in the library, and magazines' back-issues can be checked out for home use.
  • Great Courses by the Teaching Company© - Enjoy a top-notch college level course in comfort and at your own pace. We have a growing collection of Great Courses available to check out.
  • C/W MARS Network - Network membership gives us access to the collections of more than 165 other libraries. If there is a title you would like that we don't own, we can usually find it for you at another library and have it delivered to us within a few days.
Reference Resources - In addition to thousands of print titles, including numerous types of Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Directories, and specialized materials, we also offer a number of online databases, available 24/7 from your home computer. See our Online Resources page for more information. 

Computer Access - The library has 16 computers available for in-library use by patrons. WiFi is also available throughout the buliding.

E-Mail notification - Library users who provide us with an email address will receive email reminders two days before their materials are due back, email news of overdue materials, and email notification of holds available for pick-up.

Museum Passes - These passes can be reserved at the Main Desk, and allow for discounted admission to a number of local museums. See our Museum Passes page for more information. 

Children's and Young Adult Programs - The Children's and Young Adult rooms are always hosting programs for all ages. Check our events calendar for more information.

Copy Machine/Fax Machine -
There is a small fee of $0.25 per page for printing and photocopying. Faxing costs $1.00 per page to help off-set the rising costs of paper and toner.
